Erb captures three wins and DIRTcar Summer Nationals title

Tyler Erb capped the final week of the 2024 DIRTcar Summer Nationals with three victories in his Bulk Material Lift / Anthony’s Pizza No. 1 Best Performance Motorsports / Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors / First Class Septic / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

With the final week heroics he not only claimed the $10,000 week No. 5 title, but also the overall 2024 DIRTcar Summer Nationals title.

“This is the most fun I’ve ever had racing in my whole life,” Erb shared. “There’s been a year or two in between since I’ve been racing for a living that it just ain’t no fun. If you don’t enjoy what you’re doing that sucks. I’m enjoying every bit of this.

“It’s pretty cool because I’ve never won any sort of points in my life. I’ve never been a good points racer because of my approach to racing. My approach to racing is perfect for something like this because everybody works hard but we try to go the extra mile and we like racing every day. Definitely wasn’t on my bingo card but it happened and happy to say I did it. A huge shoutout goes to everyone with Best Performance Motorsports and all our great supporters. We’re excited to head to Husets (Speedway) this week and go after our first Silver Dollar Nationals title.”

For the fifth and final week of the 2024 DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour, Tyler Erb trekked north to Butler Motor Speedway (Quincy, Mich.) on Thursday afternoon to pilot his Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Late Model.

Joining a field of 28 DIRTcar Late Models, Tyler topped the overall speed charts in time trials before placing first in his heat race. Regaining the lead from Wil Herrington on lap 26 of the feature after the pair made repeated contact, Erb sped off with his ninth DIRTcar Summer Nationals victory of the season and 12th overall of the 2024 campaign.

Erb bagged the $5,000 winner’s payday ahead of Rusty Schlenk, Dillon McCowan, Trey Mills, and Clay Stuckey.

In a repeat victory on Friday evening at Crystal Motor Speedway (Crystal, Mich.), Erb drove underneath leader Dona Marcoullier on lap 36 of the feature and led the final four circuits to claim the $10,000 top prize.

After Saturday’s runner-up finish at Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon, Ohio), Tyler secured the DIRTcar Summer Nationals title with a $5,000 victory in Sunday’s stop at Wayne County Speedway (Orrville, Ohio). He paced the final eight circuits to record his 11th Hell Tour triumph of the season and his 14th victory overall.

The New Waverly, Texas driver was awarded a $10,000 paycheck for the Week 5 points crown.
