11th-place finish in Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway
For the 17th running of the Firecracker 100 weekend, Tyler Erb followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) on Thursday afternoon to pilot the Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Rocket Chassis Late Model.
Taking part in a pair of prelims to kick off the three-day event, Erb raced his way into his $5,000-to-win feature with a fourth-place finish in his heat before wet weather postponed the 25-lapper to Friday afternoon.
Taking the green in 11th, Tyler advanced five spots to finish sixth.
Later Friday night for another round of preliminary features, Tyler followed up the seventh-fastest lap in his time trial group with a fourth-place finish in his heat. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Erb reeled in his second consecutive sixth-place finish.
On Saturday, Erb missed a transfer spot by one car in his heat with a fourth-place finish, relegating him into a B-Main. With a consolation victory placing him on the 10th row for the $50,000-to-win Firecracker 100, Tyler capped off the weekend with another nice run, charging forward nine spots in the 100-lap affair to place 11th.
Tyler remains ninth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
