Terbo advances 14 spots in Spring Thaw at Volunteer Speedway
Tyler Erb was back behind the wheel of the Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Late Model on Tuesday afternoon at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for XR Workin’ Man Series lidlifter.
Earning the 24th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main via a fourth-place finish in his B-Main, Erb was an early retiree with 12 laps remaining.
Returning to the 4/10-mile oval on Saturday after unfavorable weather shortened the XR Super Series-sanctioned Spring Thaw 100 to a single day, Tyler was off the mark in time trials but rebounded with an eighth-to-fourth run in his heat. With a consolation victory placing him on the 10th row for the $100,000-to-win A-Main, Erb advanced through the field 14 spots in the 100-lapper to register an impressive fifth-place finish. He trailed Dale McDowell, Mike Marlar, Hudson O’Neal, and Kyle Bronson across the line.
