Erb finishes seventh with LOLMDS at Talladega Short Track

Thursday saw Tyler Erb and Best Performance Motorsports return to action with the 17th annual Tar Heel 53 at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, N.C.). (Heath Lawson photo)

With 35 Late Models entered for the eighth round of the Castrol FloRacing Night in America mini-series, Erb was forced to take a provisional into the feature after missing a transfer spot in his heat race and B-Main. With $22,022 on the line, Tyler advanced through the field 10 positions in the 53-lapper to finish 12th.

For the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) debut on Saturday at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.), Tyler’s third-place finish in his heat race placed him on the fifth row for the $15,000-to-win A-Main. Inching forward three spots in the 50-lap affair, Erb crossed the line in seventh.

Tyler remains in sixth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
