Fourth-place finish in World Finals opener at Charlotte

Best Performance Motorsports trekked to Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Friday afternoon with Tyler Erb returning to the driver’s seat of the First Class Septic No. 1 Late Model for the NGK NTK World Finals. With 48 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series competitors entered for the two-day event, Erb edged his way into the $12,000-to-win A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Improving nine spots in the 40-lap affair, Tyler reeled in a fourth-place finish. He trailed Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Sheppard, and Dennis Erb Jr. to the checkers with Ricky Weiss coming in fifth. On Saturday, Tyler clocked in sixth-fastest in his time trial group before placing second in his heat race. With $12,000 on the line in the feature, Erb faded one spot in the 40-lapper to register a sixth-place finish.
