December 12, 2018 - Landon Simon and Tyler Erb to Lead Best Performance Motorsports Charge in 2019
1St. Marys, Ohio (12/12/18) – Best Performance Motorsports is busily gearing up for the 2019 season, which is shaping up to be the team’s most ambitious campaign to date.

The team will field entries for both Tyler Erb and Landon Simon. Erb will set his sights on the 2019 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship and rookie of the year crown behind the wheel of the Best Performance Motorsports #1 Bulk Material Lift/ XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model. Meanwhile, Indiana’s Simon will pursue a full slate of competition in both his Best Performance Motorsports #1 DRC Chassis Sprint Car and Best Performance Motorsports #1 XXX Chassis Midget.

“I’m very excited to have these two young and talented drivers in our stable for the 2019 season,” Best Performance Motorsports’ Eric Brock commented. “I think it surprised a lot of people when we announced that we would be fielding both a Super Late Model and Sprint Car operation for 2019. With these two drivers the sky is the limit. 2019 is going to be a fun ride for our team.”

Known for his throttle-mashing style and charismatic antics, Texas’ racer Tyler Erb views his new ride as a major step in his racing career.

“With the support of my family, my crew, my sponsors, and my fans this is the opportunity that I’ve been working toward for the past several years,” the 21-year-old Erb noted. “This is the chance of a lifetime, and I’m extremely gracious to Eric Brock and Best Performance Motorsports. I’ve never been as focused on an upcoming racing season as I am right now. We are definitely going in with all guns blazing.”

December 1, 2018 - Landon Simon Competes in the Gateway Dirt Nationals
1 St. Marys, Ohio (11/26/18) – Landon Simon made his debut with Best Performance Motorsports over the weekend during the third annual VP Racing Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals at the Dome at America's Center (St. Louis, Missouri).

On Friday night, behind the wheel of the Mount Baker Vapor #1 Best Performance Motorsports/ XXX Chassis Midget, Simon earned the 13th-starting spot for the feature via preliminary action.

Early in the 20-lap, $3,000-to-win feature Simon jumped up to the 10th position before being collected in a melee that ended his evening in the 17th position.

On Saturday evening, Landon was seeded into the seventh-starting spot in a B-Main via his Friday night performance. With passing being difficult, Simon would only manage a seventh-place finish, and with only the Top-3 finishers moving on, his night came to an early end.

November 26, 2018 - Best Performance Motorsports & Josh Richards Part Ways; Tyler Erb Takes Over Driving Duties for 2019
1 St. Marys, Ohio (11/26/18) – After a successful two-year partnership, Best Performance Motorsports and Josh Richards have agreed to amicably part ways for the 2019 season. Texas hot shoe, Tyler Erb will be taking over the driving duties of the team’s potent Dirt Late Model.

“We enjoyed a lot of success with Josh (Richards), and I wish him nothing but the best in his future ventures,” Best Performance Motorsports’ Eric Brock said on Monday afternoon. “We are now extremely excited about the future with Tyler Erb as our driver. He’s got a lot of talent and enthusiasm and will be a great fit for our organization.”

During their two years together, Best Performance Motorsports and Richards enjoyed tremendous success. In 2017, the team earned the prestigious Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship (LOLMDS) in just their first full-season together. In 2018 they finished second in the LOLMDS championship point standings.

Over the past two seasons with Richards behind the wheel, the St. Marys, Ohio based team amassed 15 wins, including two $100,000-to-win Dirt Track World Championships at Portsmouth (Ohio) Raceway Park and the Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The duo also earned 59 Top-5 finishes and 82 Top-10 finishes.

Additional details regarding Tyler Erb joining forces with Best Performance Motorsports as well as the team’s 2019 plans will be released at a later date.

November 26, 2018 - Landon Simon Partners with Best Performance Motorsports for 2019 & Beyond
1 INDIANAPOLIS (November 26, 2018) -- It was announced today that reigning Lucas Oil WAR Wildcard Series Champion Landon Simon will drive for Best Performance Motorsports in 2019.

Simon, who has owned, operated and driven his familiar black, silver and blue LSR No. 24 with support from primary sponsor Mt. Baker Vapor for the past five years, will switch to BMP’s black, green and blue No. 1 beginning this week at the Gateway Dirt Nationals.  

“I am really excited about this opportunity and the future at Best Performance Motorsports. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished at LSR the last 5 seasons and look forward to taking that to BPM. Aligning common goals and bridging the gap between Late Model and Sprint Car racing creates a new world of opportunity,” said Simon. 

The Best Performance Motorsports Super Late Model team based out of St. Marys, Ohio has competed full time with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series since 2016. The newly formed open wheel team will operate out of Simon’s Indianapolis shop. A full Sprint Car schedule and additional Midget events will be released at a later date. 

1The Gateway Dirt Nationals is held in The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri and features the largest indoor dirt track in America,with a semi-banked 1/5 mile dirt surface. The temporary oval within the 67,000-seat stadium on the Mississippi River will see midget racing for the first time ever this week. 

“I can’t wait to debut this new partnership at Gateway. Last year we worked with event promoter Cody Sommer and did some testing at The Dome. The atmosphere in there is unreal. I can't thank him enough for giving us another great event,” added the 29-year-old Sprint Car driver.  

At Gateway, Simon will drive the Best Performance Motorsports, Mt Baker Vapor, Toyota-powered Triple X. LSR partners Duncan Oil Company, Simpson Race Products, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, BMRS, Astro Titanium, DMI, Rod End Supply, Hoosier Tire and High Side Design will continue their support in 2019.
