Best Performance Motorsports and Josh Richards traveled south to Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) on Saturday night for the $12,000-to-win Dixie Shootout. We had a pretty good car for the feature. We just need to fine tune it a little bit. Towards the end I was just trying to ride and save the right rear tire."

On Sunday night the LOLMDS action shifted to Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia). Via preliminary action Richards earned the eighth-starting spot for the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win feature. Josh would race around mid-pack until lap 37 when he ducked into the pits for a fresh tire. He rejoined the back of the pack and raced back to a 17th-place finish in the final 13 circuits.

Josh turned in a solid performance in qualifying, but with an invert of eight for each race, he started on the fourth row of his heat. With passing being difficult on a fast track, Richards failed to qualify for the feature via his heat race, but a fifth-place finish in his B-Main locked him into the 23rd-starting spot for the 25-lap, preliminary feature.

The feature found Richards passing six cars to finish 17th.

On Friday evening another $7,000-to-win program was held, and Richards again raced his way into the 25-lap preliminary feature via the B-Main. After starting 22nd in the finale at the 1/2-mile oval, Richards retired late with mechanical issues. He was credited with a 23rd-place finish.

Via his performances during the preliminary nights Richards locked into the 21st-starting spot for Saturday night's 100-lap finale. In the main event Josh enjoyed a great run as he streaked through the field to record a third-place finish in the $40,000-to-win affair behind Jimmy Owens and Don O'Neal.

"I had a blast out there," Richards said following the crown jewel event. " We had some problems yesterday that got us behind. We could have gotten some more points last night, but thanks to everyone on the Best Performance team for working hard on the car. I think we were a little better than Don [O'Neal] at the end I just couldn't quite squeeze by him. We had a fun race there."
