May 20, 2018 - Best Performance Motorsports Travels to Wisconsin and Minnesota
1After a one-week break Best Performance Motorsports resumed their 2018 season over the weekend as they traveled to Wisconsin and Minnesota with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS).

Action kicked off on Thursday night as the tour thundered into Maribel, Wisconsin's 141 Speedway for the first time ever. After qualifying eighth fastest in time trials, Josh Richards advanced from the third starting position in his heat race to a runner-up finish.

His heat-race performance locked him into the fifth-starting spot for the 50-lap feature. During the first half of the race Josh clawed his way forward in the field, and by the midway point he was up to the third position and battling for the lead. Unfortunately, the top side of the track faded late in the event, causing Richards to slip back to a seventh-place finish.

On Saturday evening the team invaded the Queensland family's Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota). Thirty entries took part in the NAPA North Star Nationals at the 3/8-mile oval. Josh would battle the handle in the main event and was able to manage only a 15th-place finish in the final rundown.

Sunday night's event at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) fell victim to rain, and the event was rescheduled to July 19.

Josh remains second in the latest LOLMDS points. For full results from the weekend as well as the latest series standings, please visit www.LucasDirt.com.

May 5, 2018 - Mechanical Failure Sidelines Josh Richards at Tazewell
1At the very least Josh Richards looked to be on his way to a Top-5 finish with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Friday night at Tazewell Speedway. Unfortunately a mechanical issue on lap-18 brought his night to an abrupt end.

Josh started his night by qualifying fourth fastest in his group. He would follow up his qualifying performance with a heat-race win, which positioned him on the pole for the 50-lap finale.

During the early laps he ran in the third position, but on lap 18 the J-bar came lose, which broke the driveshaft. The mechanical issue ended his night in the 21st position.

Saturday night's event at Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) was postponed by persistent rain.

Josh remains second in the latest LOLMDS points. For full results from the weekend as well as the latest series standings, please visit www.LucasDirt.com.
