August 25, 2018 - Josh Richards Chases Record Payday in Inaugural Dirt Million at Mansfield
1The team rolled into Mansfield Motor Speedway (Mansfield, Ohio) on Friday to compete with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) in the opening round of the inaugural Dirt Million.

With 77 entries on hand the field was split into twin $10,000-to-win programs. Josh came out of the box fast, and set overall fast time in Miller Welders qualifying in his Best Performance Motorsports #1 XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model.

He started on the pole for his heat race and wired the field to pick up the win. The redraw left him starting fourth on the grid for the 30-lap feature. Richards slipped outside the Top-5 early in the finale before mounting a charge during the second half of the event. In the closing laps he reached the second spot and began to pressure Darrell Lanigan for the lead. On the final circuit Richards made a bid for the lead, but came up just short in his efforts, as he registered a runner-up finish behind Lanigan with Mike Marlar, Mason Zeigler, and Tyler Erb completing the Top-5 finishers.

Josh's performance locked him into Saturday's big finale.

Starting Saturday's program with the eighth position in the pole-sitter's dash, Richards raced to a fifth-place finish, which positioned him starting fifth for the 100-lap, $202,939-to-win feature. Richards had a great car in the feature and would race to as high as the fifth position before mechanical gremlins bit late in the event, forcing him to retire to a 19th-place finish.

August 11, 2018 - Josh Richards Surges to Fifth-Place Finish in Ralph Latham Memorial
1Best Performance Motorsports and Josh Richards invaded Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) on Wednesday night, where they were kicking off four-straight nights of racing competition with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS).

With 54 entries on hand Josh earned the fifth-starting spot for his heat race before passing a pair of cars to finish third. His heat race performance locked him into the 18th-starting spot for the feature.

The 32nd annual Ralph Latham Memorial was originally slated for 50 laps, but due to weather in the area it was shortened to 25. Despite the reduced number of laps, Josh catapulted thirteen positions through the field on his way to a fifth-place finish behind Hudson O'Neal, Tyler Erb, Gregg Satterlee, and Bobby Pierce.

Thursday night's North/South Shootout found Richards claiming his second-straight, Top-5 finish. After qualifying third fastest in his group in time trials, Josh won his heat race from the pole to lock into the fifth-starting spot for the 50-lap feature. In the $10,000-to-win, main event Richards registered a fourth-place finish behind race winner, Tim McCreadie, Bobby Pierce, and Nick Hoffman.

Josh and the team took part in the 36th annual North/South 100 on Friday and Saturday. Double heat races with passing points were in effect on Friday night, and Josh wasn't able to accumulate enough points to lock into the feature. In B-Main action on Saturday, Richards again fell just short of locking into the feature, and as a result he utilized a LOLMDS provisional to start the 100-lap, $50,000-to-win finale in the 24th position.

During the main event at the 1/2-mile oval, Josh clawed his way forward to a 14th-place finish in the main event.
